so let's talk about selling your clothes!

Reselling gently used clothing and accessories is one of the perks of Apocalypse. We operate as a source of cash or store credit for our sellers - that’s YOU! Keeping your unworn items in circulation helps us offer the community with an accessible alternative to buying fast fashion, which is harmful to our beloved planet. So how does our process work you ask?

18+ Identification First off, you have to be 18+ to sell to Apocalypse (because of Boulder’s silly resale laws) and you’ll need a valid government issued photo ID like a driver’s license or passport. If you aren’t 18+ you’ll need a parent or guardian to accompany you.

What to Sell? It’s time to gather up the items you’re ready to part with. Remember, they’ll find a loving new home when you sell them to Apocalypse! We buy masculine and feminine, contemporary and vintage, high end and low end clothing and accessories for adults! Don’t forget your jewelry, handbags, and shoes. No underwear or socks and keep in mind we rarely take intimates, business attire, or formal wear. Please limit your selection to 30 items or less. If you have more than 30 items you can make multiple appointments. We buy the “best of all seasons", so if you have great pieces that might not be in season now, we may still take them.

Laundering It’s important to launder your items before bringing them in, so they are fresh for their next owner. Keep in mind that we only take in items that are in excellent condition - if any holes or buttons need to be sewn, stains removed, or scuffs magic erased please do so ahead of time.

Appointment or Walk-in Our buy counter is open between 11am-5:30pm most days (with some exceptions). If you want to get in and out within about 30 minutes you can book an appointment online through our scheduling system. Walk-ins are also welcome, but not guaranteed, and the wait ranges from 30 mins. - 3 hrs. Please call ahead (303-938-1924) on the day-of to ensure we are taking walk-ins that day. If you want to know what we are taking and how we are pricing your items we suggest making an appointment.

Making our Selections When you are ready to sell bring in your freshly laundered items, and don’t forget your ID. One of our seasoned buyers will look through and decide if we can buy anything. We are looking for items that are in excellent condition, pieces that are relevant to our community, and things that have sold well for us in the past. If you would like to know the specifics of what we are taking and/or how we are pricing your pieces we are happy to accommodate that! If that is your preference you’ll need to stay in the store, at the buy counter with us. Otherwise your items will immediately go onto the sales floor to be shopped.

Pricing & Getting Paid Once the buyer has made their selections they will assign prices to your items on the spot. When we price we take into consideration quality, desirability, original retail, resale prices listed online, and price points of comparable items we have previously sold. Once your items are priced you can take 30% of the resale value in cash or 50% in store credit. Since we are a buy-sell-trade and not a consignment store you get paid out on the spot, the same day that you sell!

Leaving the Store You are welcome to leave the store throughout the selling period, just remember that means you’re consenting to selling all your items for whatever price we decide. You will not be able to see what we took or how we priced each piece if you leave the store. If you leave it’s important that you return the same day, before we close, so you can get paid out and pickup anything we didn’t take. If you don’t return your items will not be available for pickup the next day.
